Chairman/CEO
Is’haq Modibbo Kawu, holds a doctorate degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy, where his thesis examined media reportage of farmer-herder conflicts and the intersection with national security in Nigeria. He holds a Master’s degree in political science from the Bayero University, Kano, and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the same university, during which he earned a university scholarship every session for being top of the class.
He won the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) award as the best graduating student in mass communication. He has also studied at the University of Lagos; Die Hochschule Der Gewerkshaften in Germany; the school of communication at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, USA; and the Lagos Business School.
Modibbo Kawu has decades of experience in the media: radio, television, print, and broadcast regulation. He was recruited by Radio Nigeria and worked as a studio manager, an announcer, presenter, deejay, and news reader, including reading news on the national network service of Radio Nigeria, as well as on the African Independent Television (AIT). He was part of the team of experts that helped to establish the Jigawa State Television.
In a very distinguished reporting career, Modibbo Kawu was one of the first Nigerian journalists to report from the war in the Darfur region of Sudan. He observed the African Union military deployment in El-Fasher, North Darfur, and conducted route assessment patrols with the Nigerian battalion (NIGBATT) in Nyala in South Darfur. He was the only Nigerian journalist reporting from the funeral of Dr. John Garang in South Sudan.
He travelled with the POLISARIO FRONT to report on the protracted war in Western Sahara. He led a delegation of Nigerian editors to report on the civil war in the Ivory Coast, reporting from the government side in Abidjan and Yamousoukro and the rebel side in Bouake, in the North. He was also in Eritrea to study the Ethiopia-Eritrea conflicts.
He was a pioneer member of the staff of Radio Kwara, Ilorin. He was pioneer GM of KWTV; pioneer editor of Daily Trust newspaper; pioneer chairman of the editorial board of Blueprint newspaper; he wrote weekly columns for the two newspapers, and was a syndicated columnist for Vanguard newspaper.
He similarly reported for Radio France International and the BBC World Service. Dr. Modibbo Kawu was also a former director general of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC). He was a distinguished delegate at the 2014 National Conference, representing the Nigerian Guild of Editors, and he is a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (FNGE).
Dr. Modibbo Kawu is the Chairman/CEO of Word, Sound & Vision (Multimedia) Limited, the Abuja-based company that works in media, research, and consultancy.
BETTY OSAMEDE AMAYANVBO
Secretary/ Admin Officer
Betty Osamede Amayanvbo holds BA. Hons in Entrepreneurial and Business Management, in 2013, from the National Open University of Nigeria. She also holds a diploma in computer science from Impact Technologies affiliated with the University of Lagos. At various times, she worked with Barr. Sunny Omere & Co. as the Chamber’s Secretary; Barr. Aliyu Ebbo & Co. as the Secretary/Cashier and Barr. Sunny Worenu & Co. as the Secretary Cashier, before joining Word, Sound & Vision (Multimedia) Limited as Secretary/Admin Officer.
SHAFIU LAWAN
Head, Media Productions
Shafiu Lawan has over 20 years’ experience as a seasoned multimedia specialist and in the entertainment industry. He possesses hands-on experience across production, sound engineering, and technical operations. He combines electrical engineering expertise with creative problem-solving to deliver high-impact audio-visual solutions. Shafiu Lawan is adept at leading teams and managing projects, including what he has done with leading media organisations. Some of the professional highlights that he accumulated include stints with the BBC World Service Trust; Quest Media Limited; Native Trends; and New Age, before joining Word, Sound & Vision Multimedia Limited. He has been responsible for installing the sound studios as well as the video editing facilities at Word, Sound & Vision (Multimedia) Limited and is the leader in production and editing work at the organisation.
ABDULRAUF ALIYU ABDULRAHIM
Special Duties Executive
Abdulrauf is a 2010 graduate of Business Administration. He did a PGD in Gender Studies and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Gender Studies, all at the University of Abuja. He did his National Service at the Central Bank of Nigeria HQs between 2011 and 2012. He worked at Zatras Oil and Gas Limited from 2015 to 2017, and he was at the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) from 2017 to 2025. He joined the Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA) at 2025 as a consultant, before he became a Special Duties Executive at Word, Sound & Vision (Multimedia) Limited.
MARUFAH OLASUMBO SARUMOH
Marketing Lead
Olasumbo Marufah Sarumoh, holds a master’s degree in Development Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy.She has over a decade of experience in marketing and managerial positions working with a number of organisations and businesses.Marufah has previously worked as a reported at the Nigerian Television Authority. She was at DAGT Nig Ltd. as the company’s manager and accountant before joining Word Sound and Vision Multimedia limited in 2014 as a marketing executive before becoming the marketing lead.
NURUDEEN IMAM ABDULRAHIM
Executive Director, Broadcast Services
Nurudeen Abdulrahim graduated from the University of Ilorin in 1992 and also holds certificates/advance diploma in Mass Communication, French, management, public relations, and radio production. Between 1996 and 1999, he was Chief Press Secretary to three military administrators and an elected governor in Kwara State; Special Assistant, Media and Communication to the Kwara State Government between 2005 and 2007; he served as the General Manager of the Kwara State Television Service from 2008 to 2010, and was Special Assistant (Technical), at the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), from 2016 to 2020. As Executive Director, Broadcast Services, he brings to Word, Sound & Vision (Multimedia) Limited a wealth of experience garnered over the years as a communications and broadcasting expert.
ENGR. DAVID K. KEIN
Head Of Engineering/Technical Services
Davide Kein is an Information Technology and Broadcast Systems Engineer with over two decades of experience in setting up of broadcast studios and troubleshooting of networks for audio and video transport. He is very versatile in both local and wide area networks using microwave and VSATs. Engr. Kevin is a certified Fibre Optics Installer (FOI) who has been variously involved in design and implementation of various digital broadcast projects and high/low frequency microwave system installations for several organisations and institutions, some of which include the installation of radio/TV studios for the Mass Communications Department of the Benue State University; installation of TV broadcast automation system and live graphic automation system at the NTA Headquarters, Abuja, as well as the installation of a wire guyed mast and antennae, radio studio automation and installation of 2 Nos. transmitters, amongst several others.
YUSUF ADISA ISIAKA
General Manager/Company Secretary
Yusuf Isiaka graduated with a B.A. (Hons) History from the University of Ilorin in 1987; had his MPA from the same institution in 1992, and LLB (2004), BL (2006) respectively. He worked in several capacities like Information Officer/Press Secretary, in the services of the Kwara State Government, as well as Chief Information/Procurement Officer for NAPEP and the Federal Ministry of Power, Abuja, respectively. He was at different times Secretary, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Kwara State Chapter and a member, Board of Directors, Kwara United Football Club, Ilorin. Yusuf Isiaka also worked with Abdulsalam Kutu Chambers as Head of Chambers before becoming Company Secretary/General Manager of Word, Sound & Vision (Multimedia) Limited since 2010.
